About Us
Formed in 1984 when a group of like-minded enthusiasts attended a beginners course at the local college and found there was no where for them to continue with their sport.
Primarily formed as a recurve archery club we now cater for recurve, compound, barebow and longbow archers. Over the years we have had considerable success in competitions with both senior and junior members representing both the county and the region.
With three qualified coaches, we are able to offer a wide range of people the chance to try the sport of archery.
We run courses for beginners and they have use of the equipment for the duration of these. The club has a multi-age range of members from 9 to our oldest member of 79.
Maggie Parker the Paralympic Gold Medalist started her archery career at Grantham Archers. Neil Dowsett who represented Great Britain in the Compound discipline started at Grantham. We have also had Simon Terry the Olympic Bronze Medalist as a member.
It is a small friendly club with all members having one common interest, shooting the bow.
